Wow! I can’t believe that the Broad Street Run is only a few days away. I am feeling good about it. Rachel and I did the practice with the run 3/walk 6 intervals. We actually did really good with it. We weren’t able to meet up during the following week, but when we got to practice for our 10 mile run, I turned to her and told her I thought we could run. She said she was having the same thoughts (both of us admitting we were crazy). It was then that we decided to try and run… all 10 miles.
We actually ended up running about 90% of the long run. It was good. The last 3 miles or so hurt, and I was sore the next day, but we kept up with it. This past Sunday we ran our 5 miles. It was slow, but we really felt like we were warming up in our last mile. For the 5 mile run, we ran to a mile marker and then walked for a few minutes, then ran to the next mile marker and so on. It felt great! Currently we are planning on doing 4 miles this afternoon, 3 miles tomorrow and then meeting up at the expo on Friday before I head to the Phillies game.
Race Day is Sunday!
