Things I Love Thursday! *Sweaty Bands*

I’m so excited to not only be doing my first Things I Love Thursday, but also to be hosting my first giveaway!!!

Last year before the Princess Half Marathon I picked up a head band for the race.  I visited the one of the booths that advertised their product as “guaranteed not to slip.”  I decided to give it a shot since I have had problems with head bands slipping in the past.  I figured that the worst that could happen would be me losing my $15 investment when the head band slipped off during the race.

Of course the head band stayed on and so I fell in love with Sweaty Bands!  I’ve been lucky to find them in my local running store, but the variety hasn’t been very good so I have mostly made my purchases at expos directly from the Sweaty Bands booth.

Sweaty Bands come in three main sizes: 1 1/2″, 1″ and 5/8″.  My first two purchases were of the 1 1/2″ size and while I love the design of them, they don’t work well with the shape of my head.  They don’t lay flat on my head when my hair is pulled back.  They do look nice when I have my hair down though and that is how I wear that size now.

I have since tried the 1″ size and I love it.  It fits so nicely on my head and of course, it stays in place!  I’ve worn one in almost every race I’ve done since the 2010 Princess and I can’t wait to get more to match my other outfits. 

I am a bit surprised that I don’t have any decent pictures of me wearing a Sweaty Band.  I would love to share one with you so you could see the designs that I have.  They have a great variety of styles to choose from, including the basic solid colors or school colors and metallic bands.  One of these days I’ll pick up a solid color, but I keep finding difference designs that I love and just can’t live without.
