Back at Practice

After my vacation last weekend, I really needed to get to my practice this week.  We’re starting at 7 am for the month of August.  That means a really early Sunday morning for me.

On tap for today was a 9 mile run.  I didn’t have the healthiest diet over the weekend, but I woke up and found a flurry of tweets from friends that were wishing me well on my run.  I wasn’t feeling really good, but seeing all those people cheering me on just for a practice got me moving and got me to my practice.

Practice this morning was a combination workout/sauna/shower.  I didn’t check the weather, but we had some rain to contend with.  It wasn’t really the cooling rain I’ve been hoping for though.  I’m thankful that my longer runs while training for my full will be in cooler weather.

Starting tomorrow I am really going to focus on my diet.  I’m going to search for a diet for runners who want to lose weight.  I am thankful that have been maintaining my weight, but I really want to lose weight and I think that I will be able to run better once I get my weight down.  Any diet recommendations are welcome!

Oh, and I think I’m going to join Courtney in her 100 day challenge.  I need to head back over to her blog to look at the details again, but I’ll get back to you to let you know how I’m doing!

Sounds like a rough running day…I've been stuck on the treadmill all summer and I'm so tired of it. Going out this weekend no matter what :)!

Great job getting out there even though you didn't feel great.

Please pass any information on about any diets you find. I know what I should be doing, but I just can't seem to stick with it. I'm not sure if it's just because I”m burnt out with the routine or if it's just not the best diet for me now.

I so hear you about fall coming up and how great it's going to be for full marathon training!
